These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Comprendo (the "Service"), operated by Shepherd Digital Co. LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Comprendo helps you understand legal, medical, financial, and other documents in plain language using AI-powered analysis. The Service provides general informational summaries only and is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, or other advice.

2. Eligibility & Account

You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

3. Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, fraud, or to send spam.
  • Upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that infringes intellectual property.
  • Attempt to interfere with the Service's security, probe, scan, scrape, or distribute malware.
  • Reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service or its outputs without permission.
  • Use the Service to generate illegal content, deepfakes, hate speech, or to circumvent safety measures.

4. AI Outputs & Accuracy

AI-generated outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any output before relying on it. The Service is not suitable as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. You retain rights to the documents you upload; we claim no ownership of your input or AI-generated output.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by Shepherd Digital Co. LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

6. Payments, Billing & Refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. See our Refund Policy for refund eligibility.

7. Service Availability

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where such exclusion is prohibited by law.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of content you submit, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

10. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; you may request export of your data within a reasonable window before deletion.

11. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Shepherd Digital Co. LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
